Monday

I’ve been collecting these stickers for the last 8 weeks and I’ve nearly finished the book.

Just two more stickers to get. I’ve got a hundred spares to swap for them. Pocket money day is in 5 days

Benny: he’s my best friend,

He can argue with anyone, and he’s good for a laugh,

He does wicked impression and he acts really silly,

One day though he made this girl cry in our class,

And when he tried to say sorry she kicked him right in the willy,

That was really funny,

See Benny, he says the craziest things,

At first break we eat crisps next to the swings,

And we talk about what we’ll do when were teenagers,

Benny reckons we’ll both be rich but he’ll be famous,

And folk’ll watch him tell jokes on the telly.

And I recon he’s right 'cos I don’t think that anyone’s

Anyway near as funny as Benny,

Then there’s

Paige: She’s a girl yeah but she’s all right anyway,

I go to her mum’s house after school every day,

Her house is only down the road from mine,

And I wait there till five when my mum finishes work,

She’s got a garden with a sandpit and she’s real good at handstands,

And she used to have a trampoline but the elastic bits broke,

As well as that I sit next to her in maths,

She knows all the answers and we have a good laugh,

Miss says she’s a good influence on me but I don’t really know about that.

She taught me all the swear words I know, oh and how to do that (snap fingers).

Dave: he’s really good at football,

And he‘s always on the other side,

He scored 16 goals at dinnertime,

We lost and it’s his fault,

Jay: I’m going to put him as an enemy although I don’t really know him,

But he’s definitely not my friend,

And he laughed at me one time when it was snowing,

And I fell over in the playground and banged my head,

Tuesday

Benny: this morning he told everyone in our class that Paige was my girlfriend,

He thinks he’s so funny, but he’s an idiot and I told him,

Jay: I don’t really ever talk to him but he always looks at me funny,

I reckon at the end of the day he just don’t like me or something,

Dave: today at dinner he picked me for his team,

It was wicked to be on his side,

He scored 15 goals and passed to me,

And I scored five times,

Paige: I don’t think she heard what Benny said,

Or if she did she pretended she didn’t,

She didn’t say anything about it at all,

But she agreed that Benny’s an idiot.

Wednesday

Pocket money day is in 3 days

But I think I only need one sticker now.

Jay: he came up and spoke to me in English today,

When we were all down in the library,

He reckons his brother’s got one of the ones I need,

And better yet it’s a silver, a shiny.

He wants to swap it for 80 of mine,

I said that’s fine and gave him the stickers to give to his brother,

He’s gunna make the exchange and bring the silver tomorrow,

Dave: I didn’t play football at dinner 'cos I was sorting out the stickers,

But as always Dave’s side were the winners,

He said they needed me tomorrow 'cos they haven’t got any wingers.

And I said, well that’d be cool,

Benny: I’m not talking to him after what he said yesterday,

So I stood on my own today at first break,

Page: Girls are stupid.

She tried to hold my hand when we were in the computer room,

And I still had to go to her house after school,

I stayed in the kitchen talking to her mum about my stickers,

Page did handstands in the garden and you could see her knickers but…I didn’t even look.

Just buried my head in my book.

Thursday

Pocket money day isn’t for 2 more days. Bad news Still two more stickers to get. And worse still I’ve only got twenty spares to swap for them now.

Jay: He didn’t bring it,

He says his brother wasn’t about,

And he must have left my swaps at his house,

'Cos he can’t find them now,

So they must be there,

He’s a liar, I think he’s stolen my swaps to keep for himself; it’s not fair,

Dave: he picked me to be on his side at football today,

But I was really angry about losing my swaps,

And it put me off from having a good game,

I missed 4 easy shots, scored one own-goal and got tackled by the smallest lad playing,

Not once but again and again and again,

And again and again and again,

After the match Dave was really mean,

He said if they even let me play tomorrow,

Then I’m definitely not gunna be on his team,

Benny: He came over to apologize about what he’d said earlier this week,

Said he was sorry for being an idiot,

But when he was next to my desk he farted really loud,

And when people looked round he pointed at me,

So everyone thought that I did it,

He thinks he’s really funny,

Paige: Well I say she’s an enemy but she’s alright I suppose,

But she’s not my girlfriend, girls are stupid,

It’s just I don’t like being teased about hanging around with her,

So from now on I think I’m not gunna do it,

Friday

Still two more stickers to get. But I’ve got a hundred spares to swap for them again and Pocket money day is tomorrow

Benny: He got my stickers back,

He went round to Jay’s last night after school,

And told Jay’s Dad about the swap going wrong,

Jay’s Dad made Jay give Benny the stickers,

And he brought them to school this morning.

We’re friends again now and we both agreed,

It was really funny yesterday when he farted.

Paige: I sat next to her in maths today,

And she helped me out with my sums,

Then after school when I went round to her mum’s,

We made an obstacle course in her garden,

We took it in turns to go through the course,

And the other person had to time it.

She’s got a proper stopwatch,

She did it in 49 seconds; I did it in 45,

But I reckon 49 is a really good time…

For a girl.

She’s alright I suppose. I can’t really remember why I ever fell out with her.

Jay: he tried to speak to me at break this morning,

But I didn’t want to hear what he had to say so I basically just ignored him,

Dave: I didn’t want to play football today,

I just stood at the swings with Benny,

When the bell rang I saw Dave looking at me,

But I just looked away,

I didn’t want to talk to him anyway,

After what Dave said yesterday,

Today he’s one of my enemies.

Saturday

Pocket money day is today,

I only need 2 stickers and you get 6 in a pack,

I get enough pocket money to buy 3 packs of stickers,

So thanks to Paige’s maths,

That’s 18 chances at getting the two that I need.

And those odds sound pretty good to me.

Sunday

A list of my best friends.

Benny: He goes to his Dad’s on the weekend so I won’t see him again till school on Monday,

But he’s still my best friend, he always has been, you’d like Benny he’s really funny,

Paige: She came round to my house,

For a bit this morning 'cos her mum had to go and do something in town,

My gardens smaller than hers so we played in the house,

We got all my Lego’s out in my room,

I made a helicopter called the flying baboon,

And she made a spaceship called the angle of doom,

With lazar cannons on its wings, and wheels on its roof, it was pretty cool….

For a girl,

Dave: I saw him yesterday on the park,

When I went to the shop with my mum,

He was playing football with some older lads,

But he waved at me and I waved back,

So I think we’re friends and we don’t have a problem,

That’s cool 'cos football,

Was one of my favourite things about school,

It makes dinner time much more fun,

Jay: I saw him yesterday an’ all,

He was in the shop when I got there,

He said he was sorry and tried to explain,

Exactly what had happened the other day,

He said when he got home he found out his brother,

Had already swapped the sticker I needed for a over a hundred others,

By the time Jay got there with my swaps it was just too late.

He was going to bring my stickers back the very next day,

But woke up late and left the house without them, a genuine mistake,

That anyone could’ve made,

Then when I saw him that day he tried to save face,

But lied instead, and he said he regrets that, and that he feels ashamed,

Anyway he bought me a pack to say sorry and that and I reckon we’re gunna be mates,

Oh yeah, still two more stickers to get.

I’ve got a hundred and twenty-four spares to swap them for now,

And pocket money day is in 6 days.
